WFH Gift Ideas (Part 2)

Spread the love

Hi, and welcome back to my list of top ten WFH gift ideas that I have curated from searching through thousands of gifts that have appeared on-line aimed at people who are working from home or have a home office. I’ve tried to avoid the “novelty” items as I think there’s plenty of them out there if you’re looking for them. I may post up another article with some novelty ideas if you want – be sure to let me know in the comments below. If you haven’t yet read my first part you can find it here. So without further ado lets get back to going through a few options for that special someone…………

6) Its a Pain in the Neck

As someone who has frequently suffered from a bad back I really appreciate that getting the correct chair and back support are the most important things in setting up a home office but here’s something that can help with that sore you get after concentrating on that computer screen for hours on end. The Shiatsu Neck and Shoulder Massager may look like a robotic lobster has two sets of four rotating massage heads and heating therapy which simulate a hand kneading massage. Not only does it work on your neck you can move it around the waist to target your back and even your legs. great for your neck and shoulders. Pro’s – warming massager / great for pain relief / easy to use

Con’s – can massage a bit hard on the highest setting

7) The Heat is On

One of the annoying things coming into the winter when working from home is – do I put the heating on during the day or do I put on an extra jumper and bear with it? As the colder days (there’s nothing to make you feel cold like that wind whistling against the window!) and early dark evenings are upon us. This next item is a portable electric fan heater so instead of heating the whole house you can keep the home office warm and cosy saving on expensive winter heating bills. With three heat settings it heats up really quickly and is very quiet so you can keep it on during those zoom meetings without shouting. Its quite small (under 23 x 15 x 14 cm) so won’t take up much space and has a nice modern look about it.

Pro’s – small / heats up quickly / quiet

Con’s – probably not great for larger rooms

8) Sounds Ideal

This, I have to say, is my personal favourite as I can’t live without music and I have one in my home office and I’m listening to it now. Sonos have been making quality products for years and they just seem to get better. This one is their cheapest (if you don’t include their Ikea colab speakers) The quality is great, you can link them together so that the same music plays in multiple rooms (or have different music). They do have one which even has Alexa built in! What can I say, I’m a fan…………

Pro’s – great sound / easily controlled with phone app / can become part of home network of speakers for every room

Con’s – Quite expensive

9) What’s that Smell?

I’m a great believer that smell is one of the strongest senses. Smelling something familiar can prompt memories long forgotten and so I believe that they can have a huge influence on our mood.

Having the right atmosphere in your home office will set you up to work productively throughout the day and this Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser is easy to use and creates a great atmosphere. It comes with 8 essential oils all ready to use. It has an attractive sleek modern natural look that would fit in anywhere. Its very quiet and only has one button.

Here’s a tip: Rosemary is uplifting and stimulating so a great choice for a Monday. I have one of these in my office (along with a candle just for a change) and it can be calming and uplifting. Diffuser

Pro’s – creates perfect atmosphere to work or relax / comes ready to go

Con’s –  You will need to buy essential oils to top up after initial contents used.

10) Give it a Rest

So for my final choice I’m going to go with another option which may not seem that “glamorous” but will be well received by any recipient with a home office. The footrest is perfect to put under the desk and helps to improve posture and blood circulation putting your legs and feet in a more comfortable position. It has a non slip base which will grip even on hardwood floors (I can vouch for this) and is comfy and feels warm. Its made of resilient foam and has a nice warm feel covering.

Pro’s – supports the feet and legs while you’re sitting for long periods / comfy and warm

Con’s –  May not get that fantastic reaction on Christmas day you might be looking for

So, there we have it – my top ten recommendations for Christmas present ideas for that someone who is working from home or for the home office. (My first five items are over here if you want to remind yourself of them). I’ve also put together a list of smaller fun items which you can find here.

I have tried to pick a variety of things at different price ranges and for all ages. Christmas is going to be very strange and different this year but hopefully we will still be able to give presents to those that we love (even if we will not be able to give them a good hug).

Do you agree with my choices or if you think I have missed anything please let me know in the comments below. I would love to hear from you. If there is anything you’re getting for that “someone” and you want to share just let me know. It may be something that others may not have thought of.

As I said in my other article if you’re still looking for ideas or if you are maybe looking for something a bit bigger for that home office I have articles on buying a great home office desk here, also one specifically on corner desks here, an article about the perfect home office chair here, and also an article about the best home office monitor here.

  1. Hi Dave,

I’m loving the gift ideas. My favorites are the oil diffuser and the speaker. A lovely clean smelling workspace with some soft music in the background does it for me. I also like a cool working space, so the heater not so much, but then I guess that all depends on where one lives and the climate hey.

Thanks for sharing these great gift ideas

    • Rob,

It would be nice to be able to do without the heater, I agree! Maybe next year i’ll get to go somewhere I won’t need one!

With the usual end of November sales you should check back, you might be able to pick up something much cheaper!

      Glad you enjoyed the article.

      Take care,

      Dave

  2. Hi Dave,

This list has some great ideas! It has helped me with a few things like when the wife asks what I want for Christmas. Now I have a few ideas. I have come to this site because I am looking to improve the settings in my home office and you have helped with that so much!

The next time she asks, I am going to just give her this URL.

    Thanks

  3. It’s an amazing and timely article. These are the times when almost all the businesses are working from home. I am working from home for the last 8 months.

You have shared 10 WFH Gift Ideas since I didn’t read the first part, I so liked the second part that I had an eagerness to know about the first 5 gifts from first, so I searched and opened that post. And, I was amazed to see such a dedicated list. Now, the issue is that I like all 10, and I really have to think while picking 3-4 of them to give as a gift. Some of them I’ll keep for myself especially footrest.

Thanks a lot for sharing such a useful post.
