I’ve worked in many offices in various locations around the world for over thirty years. Over that time I’ve seen various office set-ups from people working on kitchen counters to full home offices.
Since the start of 2020 I’ve seen a huge increase in the number of people working from home. It is VERY important that you make sure that you have the best set up for your home office as you possibly can. Having worked in portacabins on remote projects, I recall my boss at the time giving me the specific task – before you get started working, make sure you have everything set up the way that YOU are able to do your work efficiently – don’t assume that you will “make do” with it the way it is and next week you will get it sorted as that day will not come, get it sorted the way you need from day one, otherwise it will be the end of the project and you will still be using that screen that’s too small or the lap top sitting on a pile of books to get it to the correct height! Its VERY true and wise, especially when it comes to things like getting the proper chair and desk combination, the computer screen is also very important. You only have one back and one set of eyes so it is very important that you are not straining them.
